The outcome of the past few days of discussions is:
a) let's keep this as simple as possible
b) allow people to remain completely private
So in the interest of simplicity, there are only two cases.
PRIVATE vs PEDIGREE USERS
Either you want to stay private, in which case NO data is uploaded onto the server, or you want to go public and gain recognition, in which case you must enter the Pedigree Program and accept accountability. The Pedigree Program will have a minimal extra charge (ex a few $ a month), and the product will include the first few months to a year of optional membership.
So public disclosure without accountability will no longer be allowed!
IN DETAIL
The device starts out in private mode. That means:
- you can use any username/password to log in with the device and get someone to administer you
- your username is unlisted, and you aren't asked to create a profile beyond what you're already using for the blog/forums
- administrators have to type your username in directly, because you're not visible
- if you take any courses the score is automatically discarded
- you aren't able to upload presets or store stuff of any sort
Then, you can choose to optionally but irrevocably enter the Pedigree Program. In which case:
- you lock a username into a hardware ID, can't use other usernames with that device any longer
- your username is listed, along with a profile which you can fill out to your liking
- your course data is stored and public
- your "revoke ownership" actions and "panic button" activations are stored and public
- people can't see who previous owners were but they can see whether you're abusing the "revoke ownership" feature.
COMMON NOTES
In either case,
- administrators can be assigned and revoked with no consequences
- administrators have only 2 types of permissions: basic and full. With basic the person can activate pulses, timers, silent commands and the call function. With full they can use leash mode, dog mode, and all the extra goodies
- this will probably be replicated for the remote (dummy mode to restrict to basic functions)
- the difference between electing an assignee owner and choosing an administrator is that in the first case the owner loses right to self-administer even locally.
Also in either case and by technical necessity, whether you are private or not, the following data will be stored on our servers to make the system work.
- male user information (username, password)
- device ownership (username, password to access the customization features, can be same as above or a female user's)
- any administrators chosen
- additionally the uplink application must ping periodically to transfer data and online status (we'll make sure this is as obscure as possible to potential net admins).
We're now seeking members to join our Education Committee. The committee will supplement our in-house expertise and be responsible for decisions regarding training materials, first and foremost our upcoming courses and male training curriculum.
Together, we will decide stuff like: which male skills are most in need and what should the first course be focused on? What kind of components will be required? (Dictation, multiple choice, composition, memory and patience tests, memorization by repetition, subliminal etc) Which requirements are common to most women and which will require some customization?
Thousands of males will study hard and memorize these materials - or get zapped trying :)
Let them finally work to live up to your expectations. You just have to stop by and let us know what those expectations are!
Requirements:
female
clear ideas on what a Dream Lover should be like
willing to participate in a special private forum
You may choose to remain anonymous or to have your pseudonym/website listed on the course credits.
UPDATE: There is no minimum time commitment! We understand people are busy and are only able to contribute when time allows it. Additionally the forum is private so do not worry about privacy and you will not get annoyed by suitors. We can also do this 1 to 1 by email if that's better for you
Males can help too, as Committee helpers:
scout for education committee members
create artwork or photograph training scenes (no nudity, high quality required)
helpers too can remain anonymous or be recognized (course credits + profile/pedigree page)
If you do not want to post in public, feel free to mail us directly.
Based on response and what you feel comfortable with we can have this discussion open (females post, males can review), private (closed forum) or one to one.
RF components (the components with the longest lead times by far) are on their way. However it seems that because the manufacturer hasn't figured out packaging yet, the chips will need to be taken out of the reel, baked in a special microchip oven, and then hand placed on the pcbs before reflow soldering, to avoid moisture popping out and making the IC lid explode!
Fortunately we're here on site to assist the PCB assembly house during the initial batch.
Additionally we're 2 weeks away from receiving the EMC report for the DL2K-LINK. Wasn't easy nor quick.
Local weather became very cold almost overnight. The clock is ticking.
In order to avoid creating complexity by having each little feature optional, we think we can accommodate both users who seek privacy and those who seek to earn recognition by creating a Pedigree Program that males can join voluntarily.
A quick write-up for the registration screen:
Pedigree program
Stand out from the crowd with the DreamLover Labs Pedigree Program.
The Pedigree Program allows males who are serious about building an online reputation to show off their progress and stand out. Some benefits you will enjoy by being a Pedigree Program member:
- You will have a "Pedigree" badge on their profile along with a unique Male ID number
- You will be among the first results when female users search for suitable males
Pedigree program members will also be subjected to more scrutiny. Members must:
- Choose to associate a DL2K-LINK hardware ID to their account. By doing so they commit to owning a single male account. It will not be possible to use a different account in conjunction with the stored DL2K-LINK hardware ID.
- Choose to disclose their report cards for the courses taken
- In case they are also device owners, they choose to disclose whether they are abusing the "assign/revoke ownership" feature (remember that ownership assignment is serious business and male device owners are still able to elect temporary administrators without any consequence).
You may not want to enter this program if:
- You want to keep your profile hidden or you don't want to disclose your course results
- You are not looking to build a reputation and be found
- You do not wish to restrict your ability to create multiple profiles and revoke device ownership at will.
- You want to be able to sell your DL2K-LINK USB device to another person in the future
