This was answered earlier but the point was worthy of a blog post. During leash mode if the receiver drops out of range or stops receiving packets for whatever reason it starts delivering level 3 pulses every tick (half a second, approximately). For this reason, when the male has no password to access the admin panel, leash mode makes the DL2K-LINK intrinsically secure. Unplugging it would be a very bad idea.
Regarding the security of the electrodes, this gets asked over and over so we've created an Electrode security forum topic.
We invite you to use the forums to post comments/questions regarding features and pretty much anything else that isn't a direct response to the blog entry or that may outlast that blog entry in usefulness.
That section should at some point function as a knowledge base where new users can look up their FAQs. The blog isn't searchable and even if it were it's not indexed by topic so anything answered here won't be of much use in the future...
The forums aren't very feature rich (better than getting PHPBB hacked all the time). If there's anything we need to add or allow to make them more useful please let us know.
Trip to the factory and here's the diamond polished mold. Now it's *really* mirror finish.
Final test parts will be created within 4-5 days. After that, our first real production run.
We've also received some new rubber parts, the black keypads and an enhanced star rubber part, the one that presses down against the ring terminals and the PCB (became necessary when the enclosure changed slightly due to a manufacturer design change to avoid sink marks)
This is the final remote control look, except that the PCB will be black.
That's it! Sample parts soon and now back to finishing up the programming and fighting with vendors until the last minute to go through the final test and get this product assembled and shipped to you.
Regarding the OS discussion it may be worth noting that once you have a windows based DL Uplink application running on the male's side, you can remote control the functions through the web with any OS and any browser (except advanced customization for now, which anyway requires some experimentation and would be too dangerous to attempt remotely). The "Windows only" portion of the product is the "uplink" which bridges server commands to the USB port.
DL Uplink is the PC application which manages all DL2000 offline and online functionality. About 80% of the work is done and we'll take the next week to complete it 100% (Chinese holidays - can't do much else). All you see in the screenshot is presently working and debugged. But we're still adding, documenting, and simplifying the interface.

The application of course requires a DL2K-LINK, the USB interface to the DreamLover 2000.
The application can be used by both the male and the "administrator". The administrator is the person who has the right to initiate all actions, and will likely be the male's owner, significant other or "hired gun" male training specialist.
The male normally opens the application which can be minimized and completely hidden from the taskbar and tray, then connects to the male management server.
When connected, commands can be dispatched. A possible source of such commands is the male management online control screen (shown in the browser window). You would use this to remotely control your male through a web browser or HTML enabled mobile phone.
When operating locally on the other hand you may use the administration section of the DL Uplink application directly. From here, many DL2000 operating parameters can be customized.
Of course, the male's cooperation in setting up the remote link is not necessary. As long as you can log in with his ID and have a DL2K-LINK connected to a PC on the male's side (hopefully locked somewhere and tamper-proof or tamper-evident), you will be able to remotely control the male.
In the screenshot you can see the customization screen for the arousal inducer. Relax - it won't be so difficult. We're writing plenty of help files as we go along. Soon you will be able to download this application and start playing with it and reading the help.
We also plan to integrate some "wizards" which will simplify the process of creating presets for the pulses, timers, and arousal inducer. The screen shown here is the most technical you will encounter as it allows you to precisely customize all parameters used internally to manage the timed activities. Most users will not have a need to customize these parameters directly, because they can be exported and imported. Savvy users and male management technicians will be able to publish presets on our website. The most effective male management parameters will receive recognition and glory!
There is even a simulation for each type of timed pattern so you can preview the results before actually customizing the DL2000.
We're working on the box... high quality foam is an important part of packaging. Brief video showing how neatly the cutting mold can cut into this dense hard EVA foam. This is not the foam we'll be using, but it's still pretty interesting to watch.
