Things are hectic - busy, busy, busy! At least 3 megaupdates should have been posted so far but we've been busy at factories and haven't had time.
For now, get this. We've convinced a state of the art PCB house - with ties to major Japanese companies - to accept a very small initial quantity to enable us to bootstrap!!
This required weeks of negotiations and begging, and was in retrospect only possible because Mr Wen and his workers are not from the Canton province. They understand standard Mandarin Chinese perfectly, so our communication with them was quite smooth.
This looks awesome. I can't believe this is actually turning into reality.
On your previous post, the video mentioned "canine mode." What is that? I am hoping it's like virtual leash mode, except with proximity to the remote, not the USB thing.
The canine mode is a modality whereby the wearer receives the shock if they stand upright. Using the remote for the virtual leash is problematic due to current consumption; the remote would have to be transmitting every couple of seconds for the duration of the session. Also if the remote's battery runs out before the session is over, the receiver would have no way to detect that and it would keep on shocking...
I had a suggestion for virtual leash mode as well - if you cannot implement this, I think I should be able to code one when your API comes out. Instead of having only a maximum distance from the laptop option, add a minimum distance choice. This would make it so the wearer is confined to a ring around the laptop - can't get too close, can't go too far.
Nice idea! Keep the sub away from the computer! :)
However, since it's probably based on the radio signal strength, it would mean that the signal's strength would have not to be maxed out unless really close to the USB dongle (ideally, at 0 cm). I hope it works this way. Also this could probably be resolved with some sort of partial screening of the signal, like partially wrapping the device in aluminum foil that is simultaneously grounded somehow (touch the slave's skin?), or put a metallic partial cover over the dongle and also connect the cover to the ground, but this brings the risk of a shortcircuit in the electronics and break the device, or even the USB port/computer. Also, this could lower the range of the USB dongle - DL2000 radio range.
Thats a great idea. I know my wife would love to keep me from the computer as video games is quite the addiction for myself. She would jump all over the idea of limiting my time on the comp like that.
Since this thread is a week or two old, I hope this post won't go unnoticed. I wanted to post it in the product development section of the forums, but it's not up and running yet.
Anyway, all of this talk about the computer link got me to thinking.
I'm not sure how those programs such as net nanny identify web sites with adult themes and block them from kids etc, but wouldn't it be a cool idea to code something similar that instead of blocking the site delivered a shock to the DL2000. It would probably have to be made so that simply removing the USB device would activate the shocks too, so that we wouldn't simply unplug it. It would probably have to be password protected and would need to be activated and deactivated to allow us to leave the house or wherever we are, but it could easily be used to increase the effectiveness of the chastity device by also not allow sexual excitement from viewing porn etc. I'd think that this could be easily activated and deactivated remotely through the web as well.
