- SURPRISE: Wait for cable & re-test overmold (ETA 1 week max)
- WATERPROOFING: grommets still leak, change again (ETA 1 week max)
(the two points above will likely be solved in a last full-day factory visit when the cables arrive there)
- PCBS: find reliable assembly house, we are getting an answer on component duty refund on Monday, but if this ends up taking too long we can hand assemble the first units
- PLASTIC: groove size was correct, Jason had us enlarge it but now the o-ring falls off. Either way it's waterproof so we're shrinking it again and keeping the rubber attachment boss with the holes. Enlarged by 2mm a certain point to make sure the battery connector doesn't bump into the top. Enlarged screw holes in CAD to match our current reworked prototype. Remote control design slightly changed because we're using SMD leds so we made the holes smaller and there's a new polycarbonate transparent piece that transports the light up to the surface (hard to explain, you'll see). Absolutely no room for failure or errors here these are minor details
- PLASTIC MOLD: must wait for last plastic prototype and for waterproofing to work 100% because this is the largest expense and we can't afford to redo it. Unfortunately this mold may take up to a month (but we're good friends with Jason now so we're hoping he will shorten this time considerably)
REGULATORY TESTING
- This is just a matter of paying and doing 2-3 days of testing. Need to have the very very final product in hand though.
PAYMENTS - status
- Incorporation lady fighting with payment processors over whether we can proceed without changing jurisdictions or doing more and more expensive stuff. They have different opinions. Doesn't help that the lady is in Thailand and they're having a revolution there (as usual). If these two finally reach an agreement we should have a company and payment processing ready within a max of two months. However, we can speed this up because as soon as we have an account people will be able to pay by bank transfer - or, through xoom. Xoom seems to be a good service to send money abroad for only 5$. However there are complaints about transfers getting canceled - if anyone has experience with this service let us know.

To recap. Manufacturing is almost complete. There may be big breakthroughs in only 1 week. The end goal is to have at least one box of fully assembled, fully waterproofed, fully functional DL2000 units and some way of accepting payments. That will be our official launch.
