Price is not too bad really - a bit steep, but with your super-long production experience, probably needed to recoup your capital....
Get rid of the Escrow, it makes you seem shady. Why on earth would anyone not want to send you money for your device? You are making people nervous with the escrow.
Your offers of six months of hardware, and a year of firmware for your VERY patient initial customers is not incentive - you have made it clear to the world your production is slow(call it tested and thorough), and updates we assume will be tested as thoroughly, so the chance of ANY gain from six months of hardware replacement seems more like the warranty, rather than a bonus. If you change it in the first six months, it will be because it was problematic.
Firmware for a 1.5K dollar device should be pretty much a lifetime upgrade anyways. I have a hard time being beholden to buy a firmware upgrade after risking my cash on a new and yet untested product. Make that lifetime. Certainly for your initial customers, but probably for all.
Give your initial customers a more 'real' incentive if you are going to offer an one, or don't offer one at all. Maybe half price software forever for buyers in the first three months or something.... Then you are not out any money, and can still offer something tangible.

Escrow was given as an alternative method of payment but now that it's there almost no one's using it. Not sure how having a review period makes us look shady does anyone else think so?
