Potential solution: the (voluntary) Pedigree Program

2010-10-28 05:09:53 (4579 views)

In order to avoid creating complexity by having each little feature optional, we think we can accommodate both users who seek privacy and those who seek to earn recognition by creating a Pedigree Program that males can join voluntarily.

A quick write-up for the registration screen:

Pedigree program

Stand out from the crowd with the DreamLover Labs Pedigree Program.

The Pedigree Program allows males who are serious about building an online reputation to show off their progress and stand out. Some benefits you will enjoy by being a Pedigree Program member:

- You will have a "Pedigree" badge on their profile along with a unique Male ID number
- You will be among the first results when female users search for suitable males

Pedigree program members will also be subjected to more scrutiny. Members must:

- Choose to associate a DL2K-LINK hardware ID to their account. By doing so they commit to owning a single male account. It will not be possible to use a different account in conjunction with the stored DL2K-LINK hardware ID.
- Choose to disclose their report cards for the courses taken
- In case they are also device owners, they choose to disclose whether they are abusing the "assign/revoke ownership" feature (remember that ownership assignment is serious business and male device owners are still able to elect temporary administrators without any consequence).

You may not want to enter this program if:

- You want to keep your profile hidden or you don't want to disclose your course results
- You are not looking to build a reputation and be found
- You do not wish to restrict your ability to create multiple profiles and revoke device ownership at will.
- You want to be able to sell your DL2K-LINK USB device to another person in the future

Think that should work for everyone and as long as we can elect a ongoing administrator (might not know how long they are going to manage us) rather than a owner. I can't see any problem or a scenario where that wouldn't work. But what happens if you stop using the device for say a year and then go back to it. Would you just have to retake tests to make sure you are still up to standard.

Sure, you'd need to brush up! :)

Only issue I can see that I didn't think of before if you enter the pedigree program you should still have a go invisible option in case at a later date you or possibly your new owner for any reason decide you don't want to be visible any more.
