Timer mode default settings

2010-09-03 01:43:49 (4814 views)

The timer mode functionality has changed in the new incarnation of the remote control.

Instead of requiring an inordinate number of clicks to each time enter the interval and strength, the timer parameters are configured via the DL2K-LINK and the remote just activates three distinct cycles with key combinations TIMER+1, TIMER+2, TIMER+3 (where 1, 2 and 3 are the buttons with the dots).

Here we're asking your feedback on what ought to be the default parameters for these settings. Each timer mode can have an intensity, an interval and a count (total activations). We're especially interested in female opinions, for obvious reasons. Keep in mind that the "low" pulse is just a notch above barely noticeable, "medium" is "ouchy" and "high" is a definite "OUCH". Both medium and high levels are strong enough to make it difficult to voluntarily press the buttons for "testing purposes".

The maximum interval is 9 hrs, the minimum 0.5 seconds. Interval resolution is 0.5 seconds. The timer is not terribly precise due to the need for microprocessor sleep time to save battery - therefore it's more like 487 milliseconds but it varies somewhat from part to part. So don't throw away your Rolex just yet.

Example:

TIMER LEVEL 1: Pulse intensity low, interval approx. 1 minute, count 10
TIMER LEVEL 2: Pulse intensity medium, interval approx. 20 seconds, count 20
TIMER LEVEL 3: Pulse intensity high, interval approx. 1 minute, count 60

The final word to you. These will be default settings, that you can change with the DL2K-LINK, and you will be able to upload and download your named male punishment cycle presets to share your creations.

But for now... we need some defaults!

So, what exactly is the idea here? Does she press a timer button, you get a beep, alerting you that you're being "paged" and you have X amount of time before you appear before her and she deactivates the timer? Or are you DEFINITELY getting zapped once the timer is activated? You just have X amount of time to think about it before it happens.

You've probably had this discussion on the old forum, but I didn't find your site until that was taken down.

No - it's a timed pulse delivery cycle meant for hands-free behavior adjustment.

So, she activates the timer by pushing the desired button and the receiver is then in a repeating cycle that continues every X amount of minutes until she deactivates it? Is that how it works?

I guess I'm a little slow today.

Correct.

Correct that I understand how the timer works or correct that I'm a little slow today? LOL!!!!!!!!

Sorry....couldn't resist.

Thanks for the clarification.

Sleep deprivation has long been known to be an effective technique for breaking down a subject, prior to reprogramming. A random shock to the penis while the subject is attempting to sleep would achieve sleep deprivation. I would suggest random intervals of 1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes. The level of shock to be delivered should be enough to wake the subject from a sound sleep.

A security question. If two users are in the same place at the same time, is there interference?
By dreamloverlabs at 2010-09-03 09:37:43 Reply
There are 99 selectable transmission channels, and receivers are associated to remotes via learn mode. What is your intended usage configuration?

I'm just imagining several couples using this at say... Thunder in the Mountains, and every sub in the place getting zapped whenever a top hits the button.

If the "low" pulse is just a notch above barely noticeable, then it is too low, in my opinion.

Time function I would like...

While my boyfriend is at home, I'm able to keep him aware that he's locked up. But he's off at work for 8 to 9 hours a day. I occasionally call him at work to give him little reminders. But I don't really want to interfere with his work and it takes me time to do that.

What I want is something that will give him a reminder every five to ten minutes. I would like the time between to be random so that he's not able to expect it. If it's a constant time between reminders, he's likely to get an external timer to give him some advance warning.

The level of the zap should be sufficient to make him aware of its presence, but not so much that it could interfere with his work (some of his work requires adjusting and fine tuning instruments and a sudden jerk could mess up several hours of work). A level similar to what you'd get when you stick your tongue on a 9volt battery would be about the level that would be good.

Would this timer be able to run on the receiver unit alone? or does the receiver need to be within range of the remote or DL2K-Link? This would be while he's at work several miles away from the remote & link. I don't know if we'd be able to get away with putting a DL2K-Link on one of the computers at his work.

I don't know if this would be a timer function or not, but he also wakes up about an hour before I do. Sometimes his alarm clock wakes me up too. I would like to have an alarm clock mode where it gives him a medium level zap every minute starting at 6AM on Mondays through Friday and continues until he click a button on the computer or something to indicate that he's actually gotten up. I suspect this is something that could be done via a separate program running in conjunction with the DL2K-Link.

Random timing is not supported yet - maybe in the future. You can just set it to an odd number of seconds, that will make it hard to set an external timer.

DL2K-LINK is not required for timer mode: only to program the timer parameters into the receiver once.

Alarm: yes that can be done with the DL2K-LINK.

I had another timer function idea that might be useful.

As I mentioned in my previous comment, my boyfriend is off at work for 8 to 9 hours a day. While there, he will not be supervised and I'm fearful that he'll get the idea to put some sort of insulation between the contacts and his skin to avoid getting his periodic reminders (as described above).

I would like to be able to schedule an alternate zap patterns to occur three to four times a day at a specific time. Then he can keep a log of when those zap patterns happen and reports back at the end of the day. If his log is missing any entries, then that would mean he either wasn't paying enough attention to it or had somehow disabled it.

This would need to be running concurrently with the periodic reminders timer.

As an aside, does the DL2K measure the resistance across the circuit to detect if the circuit is open (i.e. no longer making good contact)?
By dreamloverlabs at 2010-09-06 15:27:29 Reply
You can

- apply some sort of thread or tape to ensure contact with the lower electrode (tamper evident).

- use a web interface where at specific times the male is required to report the number of pulses

- as for measuring the resistance across contacts, it's a very good idea and we've been trying to make that work without any additional circuitry just in software (as you know we're decided to stop adding features and launch and now EMC testing is coming so no circuit modifications will be possible). If we succeed we'll report on it.

TIMER LEVEL 1: Pulse intensity medium, interval approx. 20 seconds, count 20
TIMER LEVEL 2: Pulse intensity high, interval approx. 1 minute, count 60
TIMER LEVEL 3: Pulse intensity high, interval approx. 4 minute, count 30

Arguments:
Intensity "low" is probably not useful for timer - it's meant for "do here and now" but everything is fine, you are behaving correctly.
In the above "1" and "2" are punishments. "3" is for playing in bed.

Personally (in an ideal world) I would like the "low" setting somewhere between low and medium.
The "medium" where "high" is now. And "high" as an ultra deadly punishment - absolutely not for daily use !!!

The timers should then be:
1: low with 20 sec count 20
2: medium with 1 min count 60
3: medium with 4 min count 30
