2010-08-25 07:57:46 (7167 views) We have already received two samples of the bodyband. Unfortunately due to the fact that it's stretchable (same material as top quality men's underwear elastic bands) the eyelets they added for us keep coming off!
The simple way to solve this is to just use non-stretchable material, however this feels a lot different (less like an expensive pair of comfy underwear, more like a regular piece of textile). The stretchable material feels really nice.
We've asked them to make another sample, adding some non-stretchable material on top of the stretchable one, sewn where the eyelets must go (tiny squares, if you can visualize that), in order to prevent that area from stretching and letting the eyelet escape.
This too did not yield satisfactory results. Our last attempt today again involved sewing bits of non-stretchable material; but this time the eyelets were pre-placed on the non-stretchable material (rather than punched through both materials) and the little square of non-stretchable material was sewn only on the left and right sides across the band's length.
This resulted in a semi-workable solution. The band will have such "patches" at several positions (our test: 2, 76, 79, 82, 85, 163, 168cm with a total length of 170cm).
The idea is to use those white plastic locks commonly used for CB type devices, and let the lock go through two of these eyelets on the patches, for instance 2 and 76 for small waist sizes, 2 and 85 for large waist sizes, and the last two holes are for different bodyband wear styles (shown on an earlier post, those that go around the neck etc). The patches will not be visible when the band is worn because they are sewn on the wearer's side.
We should receive pictures of this last attempt within an hour or so (according to them, we're keeping our fingers crossed). The next test is to verify whether this 3-layer contraption is still thin enough to slide through the holes and be mounted on a DL2000 (if not we'll just use thinner materials).
Now as we go through these complex trials, we're wondering if people wouldn't actually prefer a non-stretchable band, for security reasons. The stretchable material is actually stretchable enough for someone to remove the band if they really want. This can be prevented to some extent by stretching the band before locking it (if your waist size is large enough) - but then it would be quite tight and possibly not so comfortable.
Having tried both we can tell you that given a consensual training regimen your male is a lot better off with the stretchable band, which is comfortable enough for extended wear.
However, if most people feel more comfortable with a non-stretchable band instead, well, that makes production easier. We will update you with the photograph provided it does come tonight and provided it's not totally blurry as most manufacturer pictures tend to be before we teach them the meaning of the "flower icon" on their camera.

Why not just supply a stretchy band? Customers could ask on order how they intend to wear the Dreamlover and you could supply the appropriate band. Or just supply the waist band. Why would you want one around your neck anyway?
Just my thoughts.
Makes sense! So we're giving it a try to see exactly how uncomfortable it has to get before it's no longer easy to remove.

The issue here is with stocking different versions. We'd like to keep things as easy as possible... otherwise we'd already have custom color, waist sizes etc... but we need to get a bit bigger before we can have different versions, it increases complexity quite a bit.

This is somewhat of a show-off costume like thing, we thought it looked sexy :)
