I guess it goes like this: putting the locking pin (the white, central one, that holds the lock) through its hole from front to back, instead of back to front as it normally goes. And, possibly, using one of the longer locking pins, if needed.
Sometimes, I have the impression that it's the lock sitting in the front that makes it a bit more visible under the pants, so this idea could help :)
If the above is correct, the question is whether having the lock at the back would "conflict" with the rubber holder of the DL2000 or its receiver.
That's it exactly. The lock is heavy and those #@$* holes on top of the 3000 can yield sudden zings. I suspect that is why they moved them on the 6k. The best solution might be a cable lock that could be completely out of the way, lighter and smaller.
With over 2300 views so far and all the comments going one way, you seem to have a clear winner. And it very much looked perfect in the Mounted post.
But you seem keen to make coloured versions, so a possible compromise might be to make the main unit clear and offer different colours for the front cover. This has to be removed at every battery change anyway so users could swap it over then, if wished.
You could include both a clear and a black cover in the box. The clear main unit has the advantage of enabling users to quickly see if any water is getting in after a battery change.
Not trying to push the colored versions. Previous post showed the clear version very well so in this post we showed the mounted colors. Eventually we'll go with what most people like.
Clear is easier, as there isn't a need to spray paint. It also allows you to check if any water went in. The mold's being produced now and we'll experiment with colored transparent materials too.
